Graduate Student Teaching Workshop

March 17, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

DSC Program Representatives from Linguistics and Speech-Hearing-Language Sciences have organized a one-day 3-hour workshop on student teaching called Learning Teaching 101.  This workshop will be guided by Prof. Martin Gitterman (SLH), who will lead a discussion on some of the major components underlying successful teaching strategies; the workshop is intended to serve the interests of both fledgling and more experienced graduate student teachers. During the workshop, Prof. Gitterman will give special attention to syllabus design, structuring/executing dynamic lessons, the major do’s and don’ts of graduate student teaching at CUNY, and developing/administering different types of assessments.

This is a DSC sponsored event, and will include a free lunch for all attendees. The workshop will take place March 17th, 11:00am-2:00pm. Both prospective and current graduate student teachers are invited to attend and share their experiences teaching in the CUNY system.

See the attached advertisement for further information on this event. Please RSVP by emailing mstuck@gradcenter.cuny.edu or irisstrangmann@gmail.com. Your RSVP will help us to plan lunch accordingly.
